The House of Quinn

No one knows how old he is or where he came from.
Quinn is, was and will always be.

At least that is how the villagers look at him.

His large estate seems to change in time. Adapt its self to the modern time although always a little behind. Like it has to think of how it will look best. Choose style. What to change and what not.
It stands in a forest with a large garden around it and a pond. At this point in time it looks Victorian.

On the ground floor it has a great entrance hall with large stairs on either side, a Ball room, several reception rooms, private sitting rooms, dining room, kitchen, library and several more.
In the cellar there is a laboratory and a bath room.
Up stairs there is Quinns office / work room. The place where you can find him most often if he is at home. His bedroom and bathroom are also on this level. There are several other empty bed and bathrooms on this floor and the one above. All with the furniture covered in blankets.
And of course there is a dusty attic.
On the roof there is a large observatory. With a huge glass dome as a roof.
Well that's how it might look too you now. Don't think even Quinn knows what his house looks like exactly.
I don't think he even cares. If he wants to go somewhere he will get there. It isn't important how.
When he needs a room it is there.

Outside there is a block of stables with probably horses and a coach house with coaches in it.
A large conservatory with plants from all over the world, a greenhouse with vegetables, and a herb garden.
Beside the pond stands a little teahouse with a weeping willow hanging over the water. It seems to be neglected. It might be that the house decided it needed a Thea house but Quinn never noticed it.

Quinn

Quinn is a tall and slender Elf with a tanned skin and blue eyes, blue eyelashes. His long pointed ears are sticking out from under his silvery hair. He has a gentile face, much different than others from his race. You could tell immediately if you had ever the unfortunate chance to meet an other dark elf in person and lived.
So Quinn is a little different. He lives alone in is his great estate. Sometimes at night you can see strange lights from his office. Or hear a coach passing by.

The people in the village don't know what Quinn does for a living and to be honest they don't care.
Most families lived there for generations and he proved to be a good land lord. Never asking too much taxes. And when there are bad years it always seems to be not as bad in their village than in others.

The baker delivers fresh baked bread to the estate every morning, the grocer delivers groceries an other the milk. And so it has been for generations.

......

Achtergrond:

The life of Elanee

Elanee was as a baby abandoned on the stairs of a large estate. The housekeeper found her and she decided to keep the baby as she her self didn't have any children. She decided to train her as a maid.
So Elanee grew up in the large house and she had to work hard from a very young age. The Lord and Lady of the house had 2 children but they never wanted to play with her. Elanee loved to dream that she was a bastard child from a two rich people in love. She thought about so often that she started to believe in it. She made it an habit of looking at how the lord and lady behaved. And when she was free she did role playings like she was a real lady. One day she heard the Lord and lady speak of finding a suitable husband for their daughter. And She began to dream of her prince on the white horse. But she also realized that was something that wouldn't happen in the surrounding where people new that she was just a maid. But their were many balls and parties in the house to find a good husband for the daughter. And she listened as much as she could tho hear the gossips. Maybe she would find her prince.

And so she came to know of Quinn. A handsome elf living alone for centuries. Rich and not well known to the society. So she began to plan. She needed nice clothes since she couldn't knock on the door in her maid uniform. He should have to take her in. Winter night would be best. But it was almost spring now. She needed more time to prepare. Luckily the lady of the house decided that it was a good time to clean out the closet of her daughter. She needed to be well prepared for her wedding and the married life. A lot of her clothes weren't the right look for a married woman. And Elanee was able to take one dress and one cloak. They were a bit old fashioned but she thought that Quinn wouldn't notice it. And she had also time to make the dress fit and elaborate it with some extra trimmings to make it more handsome. She tried to steal some of the jewelery but almost got caught and she had to make up a story on why she had them. That frightened her so much that she decided that she was beautiful enough to do without jewelery. She concentrated on how to do up hair. And she became good in it. So well that even the daughter noticed it. And she was asked to do the hair for her wedding. And she did it so well that the daughter gave her an old silver hairpin with a fake diamond in it. She got a real one from her husband to be anyway. She also managed to get some shoes from the lady's closet. She found them while she was cleaning it and had placed the pair as far out of sight as she could until the lady forgot that she had them.

Than it became autumn and she got so nervous. One day she was asked to come to the housekeeper. Elanee was very worried. Did they found her out? But it was even more scary. She had found a suitable husband for her the head chef from the kitchen... She should marry him soon. She wanted to establish Elanees place in the house because she was getting old and her health was starting to fail. Elanee couldn't sleep that night she was so worried. It wasn't cold enough to make her plan work she needed more time. And she worried so much that she became ill. That was her fortune because her wedding had to wait. But she got better. And the Housekeeper told her it couldn't wait any longer. So it was planned that she would marry in two weeks. The week passed horribly slow and the weather stayed nice and sunny even while it was winter now. And Elanee prayed every day for bad weather. 2 Days before her wedding it finally looked like it was getting nasty and cold. And she decided to run the next night. And she was lucky it stormed. She had packed all her nice clothes and belongings. The House went to bed early. And she took her chance and ran.

She was glad that she had picked out a warm winter cloak but she had made a mistake. She had taken the warm soft White cloak that was just out of fashion and that wasn't a great idea to run around in it in the dark. So she had it in her pack and had to do it with her dark brown one who wasn't made for the cold weather. There wasn't any snow just yet so she would stick out in the white one. She had a map of where to find the house of Quinn and she walked for hours. It was difficult to walk with the hard wind that wanted to pull her back to the house. But she went on. When it started to become morning she was about half way to the House of Quinn. It was much further than she had anticipated. And it she was tired and cold. She was used to walk all day but only within the house and she has never been as far from home as she was now. She found an old barn with some hay in it and she took the white cloak out and rolled in it and she fell asleep. She woke up at the middle of the day and she ate some of the food that she had brought. It was cold and dark for the time of day. She heard the wind … around the barn. But she fell asleep again.

The next time she woke up the storm had worsened. She had to do her hair and with cold fingers and a comb and a mirror from her pack she did it as best as she could finally she placed the silver pin in her hair. Than she piked up her stuff again and left the barn. It was icy cold. She walked and walked and walked and she reached the Forrest around The House of Quinn. And in there she found a spot less windy and she changed her clothes. By know she was looking blue from the cold. But she went on. The Forrest got thicker and thicker and the moon was completely gone behind heavy clouds full of snow. It got so dark that she had to put her hands out in front of her. And than she heard a loud banging. That must be the house! And she walked towards the sound. When she finally reached the beginning of the garden she saw the house. It was huge and a bit old fashioned in a strange way. On the third floor there was a shutter loose but when she looked at it it suddenly closed and stayed closed. It had started to snow and the grass was white from it. She walked slowly towards the house. It wasn't bathing in light as the house she used to live in always was so she got a bit worried. What if he wasn't home didn't she hear anything about him that he quite often left the home at night? But she went on and finally came by the huge doors. She found the bell and rang it. Nothing.... She rang it again... Nothing..... And than she got frightened and kept on ringing it.

And then she saw a light coming towards the door. And the door went open and in a flicker of the candle before it blew out she saw Quinns face. She cept her head well under the hood of her cloak. She was afraid that he would she her blush even when she was so cold. He just stood there and said nothing. Than she found the courage to ask him if he would let her in and he did so. It was dark in the hall and she could barely see him. He asked her to follow so she did but she fell over a carpet. But he caught here hands. Just for a moment. His hands were big and warm. She felt the warmth going through her body. He lead her to a warm and comfy looking reception room. He asked if he could take her cloak and she undid hers and gave it to Quinn. He stared at her but not with the intention that she wanted. He laid her cloak on a chair and asked her to take a seat at the couch and served her a cup of warm tea. She remembered as how she had see the Lady sip her tea and although she wanted to drink it in one large sip she controlled her self. He didn't asked her anything he just looked at her. It was so strange. He almost looked like her as you would look at an animal that you have never seen before. He has been alone for years and she realized that that might have been literary. She hadn't seen any signs of maids ore other staff. And she shivered. What had she done? Would he love her? Was it all a stupid dream. But Quinn stood up and gave her his dressing gown. It was way to long and she lost her hands in it. She noticed now how much taller he was. She followed him to the third flour where he opened a door to a large bedroom.

She just reminded herself that she couldn't show the joy she felt when looking at the most beautiful bedroom she ever saw. It was exactly like she had dreamed of. Quinn had put an oil lamp on the bedside table and told her something about closing the curtains of the bed for warmth and that she could find anything she needed in the drawers. She hardly even noticed him leaving the room. She went to the drawer that had nightgowns in it and when she pulled it open there lay the most beautiful nightgown. She stood in front of her dressing table and looked in the mirror and took out the sliver hairpin and laid it on a pin dish. She couldn't believe it was all that she had dreamed off and totally the same as she had dreamed off. She didn't feel the cold anymore. She undressed and put her nightgown on jumped in bed and turned down the oillamp and pulled the curtains close and fell asleep.

Ze is gewent voor zichzelf te zorgen. Daardoor niet altijd even sociaal.

The Master youth
by *DeredereGalbraith

"I was born, the eldest son of the leader of our clan. It was my birthright to become the next leader ". He started to tell Quinn. "You might think my life was simple and easy then, but it was hard. Even while it was my birthright I had to fight for it. I had to be the strongest, the smartest, the best from the best. I had to stand above them all!" His normal soft voice turned harsh. "I had no friends. I couldn't trust anyone. My younger brother thought he was better than me, and tried to kill me. My father never protected me. If I couldn't fend for myself I wouldn't be good enough. I learned to be hard but fair and that earned me their respect.
But then everything was taken from me. My family, my life, everything I have worked for. But look at me. See where I am now. Not a leader of a little clan no one ever heard off.
Now I am The Master!

The Master youth 2by *DeredereGalbraith

Quinn looked at The Master who rose up from his chair saying those last words:" I am The Master". He had to admit he was that in more than one way. Master mind, Master manipulator, Master of arrogance, etc. Quinn had never thought of the master as a child. His life must have been though. He himself had a not much interesting youth. He loved his little sister and mother but the others ignored him. His strange blue eyes made him an outcast. They were scared of him. And Quinn never really cared. They left him alone and he left them alone. Until of course he met Laliann. He couldn't help to ask the question "How did you became a vampire?"

The master slowly sank back in his chair. His eyes stared in the distance. His face was becoming even paler than normal. Quinn held his breath while he studied The Masters face. A sadness seemed to come over it, even pain? Quinn could not believe it. Was he the first to know what had happened? Would he tell it to him? Quinn stayed silence, much to scared to break the moment. And finally The Master started to speak. So quietly that Quinn could barely hear him. "I don't know what happened. I can't remember. I... can't remember!" His face now clearly showed pain. He turned his head and his eyes looked strait at Quinns eyes. Quinn shivered. But he turned his face away again his eyes looking in a past long ago.
"I remember going on a hunt. It was spring and the weather was beautiful. I decided not to go back but to stay the night in a cave." The Master paused as to remember what had happened. Quinn waited impatiently for him to go on. "When I woke up I felt like I had slept for days. I heard a lot of voices around me and when I tried to open my eyes I was blinded by the light. The only thing I could see was a huge shadow of a man standing over me with a knife in his hands. Somewhere I heard a woman screaming. I think now, that it was my mother. I tried to say something but I bit my lip with two fangs that weren't there before. The man grabbed my hair and when he came closer to my face I saw it was my father. He stabbed me with his knife. But in the last moment my body instantly reacted. And he missed my heart. I fought half blinded. Relied on my ears and smells. But I managed to break free and I fled. For the very first time I fled for my life!" A flash of anger went over his face but he carried on talking. "I ran for the trees out of the sun that seemed to burn on my skin. I just ran and ran until I collapsed under a large tree. Than the smell of blood that surrounded me gave me a strange sensation. A hunger I never felt before. I licked it from my arms. Yes Ironically the first blood I drank was my own! His voice now full of anger. I had no clue what I had became! A dead Bloodsucking vampire!" He turned again to Quinn. "You probably think that would have made me happy. Even more immortal than a normal dark elf. But what is immortality when you are actually undead? What is immortality if no one knows you? What if you can't let your bloodline live on? He looked at Quinn for a while but then he sank back in his chair and closed his eyes. Quinn looked at him in the dim candlelight. He looked old and tired. The fire in the fireplace had completely died out. They sat for a while like that. And Quinn thought the Master had fallen asleep. He stood up and felt the urge to lay a blanket over The Master. But he wouldn't feel the cold. So he turned to walk to the bed. But then the master moved. Quinn turned to face him and The master started to talk with a soft smile on his face. " But eventually I met you, you reminded me of myself. A lonely young boy just taken away from the relatively safe family environment. So Scared, so different, so oblivious to the world around you. I gave you purpose in life and you gave a purpose to mine."
Quinn froze like someone had poured ice water over him.

The hunt

Sweat dripped from Quinn's back while he hid in the shadows. His long pointy ears upright to pick up every sound coming from the darkness in front of him. With a small movement of his hands he signaled Kirann the Fair Elf to come closer. Slowly they made their way into the alley. Kirann hid himself in a small niche near the entrance while Quinn went further in. Suddenly he heard a sound somewhere in front of him. Quinn stopped and held his breath his heart pounding in his chest. Than a dark shadow ran past him. Quinn slowly led his breath escape. It was only a cat. He went further until he reached the dead end. The ally was empty. He looked around and found a hiding spot. He hoped that this night they would find what they were looking for. They had heard that this was a favorite place. They waited in the darkness. Kirann had some black coal smeared over his light coloured face but Quinn with his darker skin was barely visible in the darkness. It was a hot summer night and the city laid under a blanket of hot air. They waited for hours. A large church bell rang in the distance making it clear that it was 3 o'clock in the morning. Finally they heard footsteps in the street coming towards the alley entrance. And in the pale moonlight two figures appeared. A woman in a dress with panniers giggled and the larger male with long pointy ears sticking out from under his Tricorne hat, mumbled something to the woman. She giggled even more hiding her mouth behind a folding fan. He lead her to the back of the alley passing Kirann and Quinn unnoticed. There he turned around to face the entrance of the ally as to be sure no one was following them. Quinn and Kirann saw his pale yellow eyes reflecting in the moonlight. His skin was a light Grey. The man laughed softly. Kirann nodded to Quinn knowing Quinn wouldn't be able to see but he knew he had taught Quinn well and that he had recognized the signs. They were lucky this night. Both didn't wanted to see what was coming but they had no choice. The weren't here to rescue a damsel in distress. At least it looked like the man meant businesses and they wouldn't have to wait much longer. With his hands the dark man brushed away the long curls of hair from the womans neck. The woman giggled some more as he bowed over as if he wanted to kiss her in her neck. But before he reached her neck he flashed his fangs and bit her. Just a small muffled shriek came from the woman but soon she went limp while he slowly sucked all the blood out of her. Quinn saw the vampire check if she was truly dead. A shiver went along Quinns spine. He hated it but he knew he had to wait. At least he wouldn't have to do it. The man dropped the body of the woman to the ground and walked slowly away whipping the blood from his face with the back of his hand and licking the blood from it. When he passed Quinn, Kirann stepped out of his niche just in front of the man. He stopped while hiding his surprise, and said “Go away, old fool! I don't like an over aged dessert like you!” Quinn stepped out of his niche behind the man. He put one hand over his mouth and with the other he pushed a wooden stake trough the mans heart. And he whispered in the vampires ear “This is for my little brother”. The eyes of the man flung wide open with surprise as he fell to the ground. Quinn pulled the stake out and cleaned it on the mans clothes before putting it back in his coat pocket. Kirann filled a little glass tube with the blood of the vampire. They hid their tracks and left the ally as quietly as they had come.

Back at Kirann's house they debriefed the hunt of the night. “You did very well, Quinn.” said Kirann with proud in his voice. Quinn looked at Kirann, the man that had adopted him and became his mentor. In a kind voice he said:” You have to be careful. I noticed you reacted a little slow this evening”. Kirann bowed his head. “You are right, I am getting old and tired”. He sounded disappointed and Quinn wanted to lighten him up. “Do you remember that night we thought we had found a vampire and we nearly wanted to kill him but we found out he just came from a costume ball?” Kirann laughed, “Yes, and he tried to kiss his wife and one of his fake fangs came off and he nearly choked to death!” And when we came closer we saw that his ears were also fake. He nearly fooled us”. And they both bursted out in laughter. “Oh! and he got so scared of you because he thought you were the real vampire “. Kirann Could barely say it and tears of laughter came from his eyes. Quinn sighted, But I still wish we could rescue the victims”. Kirann saw worry on Quinns face again. “I know my son. But if we want to wipe out every dark elven vampire, we just can't. You remember what happened that time we rescued a lady who turned out to be a princess? How she declared us heroes and we had to run for our lives because we became the hunted? Every vampire in the surroundings new what we looked like. And where we lived.” Quinn could never forget that time. He had been frightened when they had lost each other while being hunted down by a group of vampires. They traveled years to try find each other again. “Yes it was a horrible time” said Quinn. Instead they both found a new places to live. Quinn stumbled upon an abandoned castle in a clearing of a Forrest. They original owners had fled because they said there was magic in that place and it scared them to death. But Quinn loved it and even became the land lord. He cared for a little village just outside of the forest. Kirann found a home in a village what now had became the city. Just two days riding of Quinns home. And years later they had found each other while they were hunting vampires again. “Will I ever have my revenge?”Asked Quinn. Kirann got a deep frown on his forehead while he was thinking about Quinns Question. But a yawn escaped him. “Let's sleep over it. But I think you're right. We are killing many vampires but we seems to get nowhere. There has to be a better way”.

----
The next morning Quinn found Kirann sitting in his morning robes working in his lab. It was a dark room stuffed full with books and all kind of instruments. Quinn loved the smell of that room. Dusty with an aroma of herbs, chemicals and old paper. He knew better than to disturb him so he waited patiently for Kirann to notice him. On his work table he had set up his microscope and he was analyzing blood samples, drawing little pictures of what he saw in his notebook. He finally looked up and saw Quinn standing by the door. “Good morning Quinn.” he said. Quinn walked closer to the table. “What are you looking for in the blood?” he asked. “Take your stool and sit down and I will tell you” said Kirann. And Quinn took the stool and sat beside the table as he did so often when he was little. He remembered balancing on it while his feet didn't reached the floor but know it was very low for him and it sat a bit uncomfortable. And he looked up to Kirann who started to talk in his teacher like manor. He talked slowly and clearly, watching every move of Quinn to be sure he understood what he was telling him. “For as far as we know the very first vampires were Grey skinned dark elves from the mountains. But soon after there were sightings reported of brown skin Dark Elves. And later also vampires of other races. But somehow there are always more vampires from the dark elven race than any other race. We have never heard of any vampire children. So how do they multiply? And why dark elves?” He paused waiting for Quinn to think about the question. Quinn remembered when they had been searching trough every document they had found with any info on vampires. And Quinn had to write down every thing that they had found by race of vampire, date of sighting and sometimes even the name of the vampire. Quinn thought out loud :“It probably has something to do with their blood drinking, but all the victims we find are always dead. But there were reports from people that had recognized a vampire as being a normal person. So somehow people can be turned in to a vampire. But we know so little from the very first vampires. The stories are more like legends.” Kirann nodded to Quinn. “You are right we know so little and there are so many misunderstandings. Like vampires will burn when they touch crosses. Well we found out the hard way that that isn't the case. Although some vampires believe it themselves and are afraid of crosses. But yes I think the answer must be in the blood drinking what makes vampires different from non vampires. Like a disease that make them crave for blood. And somehow Dark Elves seems to be more vulnerable.” “Have you found anything?” asked Quinn. “Now that is the frustrating part. No, I haven't found anything and I am not sure I will” answered Kirann. “Why not?” asked Quinn “Well because I think my equipment might not be well enough to make it visible. So we might have to be a little more patient. But I am afraid my stomach isn't so lets get breakfast.

About a half century later.

The arrival of Elanee

It was a cold and stormy winter night. Quinn sat in his comfy chair in the library and was reading a book. The fire in the fireplace warmed the room. When suddenly he heard a loud bang. Quinn laid the book on his lap and listened. And again there was a loud bang. It came from somewhere upstairs, he realized that one of the window shutters had became lose. He thought of the long cold corridors that he would have to take to get to that room and shivered. But than the noise stopped. He listened for a while but heard noting strange any more and poured himself a cup of tea. He picked up his book and forgot all about the window shutter and the hot tea.
But after a while he again was torn from his book and he heard a loud noise. It took Quinn a while to realize what it was this time. It was the doorbell. Who would be out in this late an hour and in this horrible weather? He lid a candle and and walked to the door. In the hallway it was dark and cold. When he came in the entrance hall the bell was still ringing. He hurried to the huge entrance doors. Someone must be in a great hurry to reach him Quinn thought. He opened one of the large doors and the wind blew out his candle. Outside he saw a white ghostly figure. And with a quivery voice he heard it say:” Can I come in please?” Quinns eyes were still adjusting to the darkness, but he stepped aside and let the ghostly figure in. Snow was blowing through the door opening and he had to push hard against the wind tho close it. He turned around and saw that the ghostly figure was actually a person in a white cloak. And the quivery voice said:” I am so sorry to disturb you my lord, but I got lost and heard loud bangs and hoped I would find a house or shelter”. Quinn looked amazed at the shivering cloak. He had no idea what to think of it. But he shivered too and thought that the cloaked person must be even more cold. “Please follow me to the reception room where it is light and warm” he said. And he started walking. The cloaked person followed him closely. And than it tripped over a loose carpet. Quinn turned and caught it, he felt two very cold and small hands in his hands. “We are almost there. I am sorry, I tend to forget that not everyone can see in the dark as well as I do.” And he let the person to the reception room. When he opened the door a warm glow from the gaslights welcomed them in.
“May I take your cloak?” He asked. And the person began to take off the cloak. And there was a woman with brown curly hair and hazelnut eyes. She held the cloak out before her but Quinn was looking like he saw a miracle. And he said to her :“I am sorry, I don't get many visitors” and he took the cloak and laid it over a chair. She made a reverence and said :”I am Elanee”. Quinn never felt so stupid in his whole and very long life. And in an unsure voice he said “please call me Quinn”. And he walked to a couch near the fire. “Please sit down” he said. And he took a large tea pot and poured two cups of tea and gave one to her. She sat on the couch very lady like. And Quinn took the seat on the opposite side of the table. Elanee sipped her tea and Quinn sat just watching her. She was a lot smaller than he, and looked human and very much a lady.
She regained what color in her face. She placed her cup neatly onto the saucer and held a hand for her mouth to conceal a yawn. Quinn stood up and took of his warm dressing gown and held it in front of her. “Here put this on and I will escort you to your room.” She put it on and it was way to big for her. It dragged over the floor and she looked like a queen in it. This time Quinn picked up an oil lamp and lit it. They walked trough the halls, and went up the huge stairs to the second floor where he lead her in to a bedroom. He pulled some sheets from the furniture and placed the lamp on the bedside table. Elanee looked around and it was a beautiful room. The furniture was spotless white and painted with small flower arrangements. There was a beautiful dressing table with a large mirror, a writing cabinet, a dresser and a Queen size four-poster bed. Just what she dreamed of. Quinn said, “ you can probably find anything you need here just open some drawers. And close the curtains around the bed it will help to keep warm. Good night and sleep well”. And Quinn left the room leaving the oil lamp on the bedside table. Outside the door he stood still and took a deep breath. He heard Elanee rummaging trough her room. His eyes adjusted to the darkness and he went to his own bedroom. He missed his warm dressing gown. But his room was nice and warm. He changed and went to bed.

Quinn felt nervous he didn't know what to do with this visitor. He waited in the reception room where he and Elanee had tea. He hoped she would find this room when she got up. But hours went by and she didn't came. This wasn't a good sign. He stood up and went to her room and knocked softly on the door. Nothing... and he knocked a little harder and still nothing. Could he just open the door? But she is a lady? But there was no one else in the house so he opened the door and walked in the room. The curtains of the bed were still closed. But he heard an weazing sound like she was having problems breading. He walked to the bed and opened the curtains a little. He was afraid to look but he had to. What he saw made him worried. Elanee looked pale and her hair was sticking to her face wet from sweat. She opened her eyes and she shrieked. Quinn wanted to apologize to her for being in her room but than he heard her speak “NO NO NO I don't want to marry you! Noo I want my prince!”, and her eyes closed again. He was a little surprised but then understood she wasn't talking to him. He worried even more and he put his hand on her forehead, she was ice cold. Just for a moment he stood there not knowing what to do. She was probably very ill. He had to go to get the doctor. But first he made a fire in the fireplace of the room and put some extra blankets on her bed. Than he went to the stables to saddled a horse and galloped to the village to get a doctor.
The doctor couldn't believe that Quinn asked for him, he was never ill. But he could see from Quinns face it was serious. What he heard made him even more surprised. A lady that got lost in the middle of a winter night? And when Quinn told him what he had seen he immediately saw how serious this was. He told Quinn that he had to go back and make her some warm herbal tea and gave him some medicine that he had to put in it. He should make her drink it. And that he would come as soon as he could by carriage and he would bring an old nurse he knew to help him take care of Elanee.
Quinn raced back to the estate and made some tea that the doctor gave him and put a few drops of medicine in it. He went to her room and opened the curtains. When he got to the bed he heard Elanee talking. But when he opened the bed curtains she looked very ill. He took an extra pillow and helped her up a little and held the cup of tea for her. She didn't notice and he head to try to put a little in her mouth. Little by little he poured the warm tea in her. And she calmed down a bit. He hoped the doctor would come soon.
When he heard the coach coming he ran to the door and he helped the doctor step out. And the older woman, which the doctor explained, was he very good nurse. Quinn was glad he had help. He didn't know anything about illnesses and women. They all walked up to Elanees room. The doctor immediately began to examine Elanee with the help of the nurse. Quinn stared out of the window. The nurse stood up and told him that Elanee needed a hot bath and that he had to bring it to her room. Quinn looked at her strangely. Then he realized that the nurse had never heard of a bathroom. He opened a door in the room and led the nurse to the bathroom and told her that there were two tabs on the bath one for cold water and one for hot. And that you had to mix it to get a nice temperature. And that she had to be careful not to burn her hands on the hot water. The nurse was staring at him in disbelieve. But Quinn opened the taps and she saw water running out of them. One hot and steamy. Her face changed from disbelieve in to a smile. She told Quinn to leave it to her and worked him out of the room. The doctor went with Quinn. He told him that they had to talk. So Quinn lead him to the library where stood two comfy chairs. Quinn poured two cups of tea and sat down. The doctor began to talk. He told Quinn that there was something strange about Elanee and that she might have ran from an arranged marriage. Her hands were much too rough for a real lady and she looked like she was used to hard work due to her arm muscles. He told him that it wasn't just the cold that made her ill.

Elanee was ill for weeks, and in the meantime Quinn tried to find out more about her background. She talked a lot while she had a fever. He realized that someone had wanted to force her to marry and that the evening she came to his house should have been her wedding day. But she never mentioned any names. But then the doctor came with the answer. He had been called to a house where a lady who had been a housekeeper at a large estate was dying. And there he heard that she had adopted Elanee. Mainly because she wanted someone to take care of her when she would be to old to work. She didn't sound like a loving mother. She just wanted to use her. And in fact she was very angry at her that she had fled. The master cook where Elanee was engaged to, had married an other maid. And she was kicked out of the house because she was to ill to work and they blamed her that Elanee had ran away. They complained about getting a bad name. And they didn't want anything to do with her or Elanee anymore. She didn't know who Elanees parents really were. So Elanee had nowhere to go.
The doctor also told him that Elanee probably suffers from a mental illness called megalomania. And that telling her that he had found out about her life story might make her even more ill. Quinn felt very sorry for Elanee. He might give her at least part of the life she really wanted. But he would never be her prince.

The arrival of Gwenn

It was an early spring morning, the birds were singing and flowers were beginning to bloom. Elanee sat on a bench in the garden. The first time since her illness and she felt peaceful. She loved the garden and the warm sun on her skin. She even had some color in her cheeks.
Quinn got up early and was sitting in his study going through his post. There was a sealed letter with a cross as a symbol. It came from the big city. He broke the seal and began to read. His forehead became a frown. This was not what he had been hoping for. Why now when Elanee was just getting better but not well enough to travel? Than he noticed an other card, also one he didn't expected. It was an invitation for a Costumed ball from Lord Gabriel and Lady Adina. He didn't trusted that Lord Gabriel... Well he had to tell Elanee the news, so he got up and went looking for her.
He found her sitting in the garden. She looked almost happy. That made him feel even worse. Slowly he walked towards her. She must have noticed he had something to tell her because she lost the little color that she had in her face. He greeted her and asked if he could sit beside her. She nodded her head and he sat down. There he sat quiet for a while until he found the courage to tell her about the letter.
“I have to go to the city for a while. Hopefully it is just for a few days but it could also be weeks. You are not well enough to travel and you must stay here.” He said while looking at Elanee. She was looking at her trembling hands. Quinn felt horrible and decided that he had to give her something to look forward too and keep her busy. “But”, he said “ I have also some news that you might like. And he gave her the Ball invitation. I promise I will be back in time. And you can let a seamstress make a costume for yourself. Her face lighted up a bit. And so they sat for a while both in their own thoughts until Quinn got up to pack for his journey.
The following morning Quinn left in his coach for the big city.

The story of Quinn
A mist hung low over the land. It was just before sunrise and Quinn sat in his coach worrying over Elanee and the job ahead. He didn't explain to her what he had to do only that he had to visit an old friend who needed his help. And an old friend it was. He knew him for centuries. It was an elf but not a dark elf like him and yet he was the closest that came as a father to him. He was his mentor, his savvier and sometimes his boss. When Quinn was young many centuries ago his family was murdered by a group of Dark Elven Vampires. They let him live with the gruesome memories. They didn't kill his family to feed but out of fun. They had laughed at him because he couldn't do anything. And so …... found him completely devastated with the bodies of his dead family scattered around him. Together they had buried the bodies and Quinn followed him home.
There he learned how to read and write and he lost himself to study. His favorite subjects were vampires and alchemy. He tried to find all the information of how to kill vampires and the history of the clan that killed his family. They sat many evenings for the fire talking about vampires. Over the years they heard more and more about senseless killings of that clan. The feasts where they killed whole villages. And on one birthday Quinn got a vampire killing kit from …. And then it started.
They first hunted on the less important newly made vampires of the clan. Trying out all the methods. Some of them proved to work others didn't. They were not the only ones hunting them. Other vampire clans got scared that the people might get so angry that they would hunt all the vampires they could get their hands on. And the clan disappeared for a few centuries. But in the letter …. told him he had found a new headquarters in the middle of the city.
And so he sat there thinking of his past until he fell asleep. A few hours later he woke up from the sun that was shining on his face. It had become a beautiful spring day again. And the dark clouds of his past drifted away while he looked out of the window. He saw happy people working on the land and children playing. It was a long journey and they stopped at an inn to spend the night. The people at the inn treated him with respect and a little fear. These were times that he realized he was a dark elf. And that he was different. Not welcome between the Dark elves and not welcome between the humans. In the city it would be better. People there cared less. That is good a good thing but also dangerous. He ordered that his meal had to be brought up to his room. And there he sat alone eating his dinner. And suddenly he missed the company of Elanee. Always trying to eat as elegant as possible. She made eating in to a real art. Even while she was weak from her illness she behaved like a lady. He finished his dinner and put the tray outside his room on the floor so the maids could pick it up and he went to sleep.
The next morning he woke up before sunrise. Most of the guests were still sleeping. He went downstairs for breakfast. Fresh backed bread and some stew from leftovers from the evening before. It was a good meal and he gave a tip to the old maid that had served him. She looked surprised and looked around if anyone had seen it and stuffed the extra money in her apron. Quinn found it difficult not to laugh. He would leave some extra on the counter for the innkeeper. His coach was ready and waiting for him outside.
In the evening they arrived at the city gates. Quinn was glad the they arrived before the gates were closing. He didn't want to spend an other night at an inn. The coach drove slowly trough the streets. The hooves of the horses made a lot of noise on the cobbled stones of the road. And then they finally arrived. They stopped in front of a large house. Quinn stepped out and he walked to the door. He pulled a lever and a bell rang. A servant opened the door and in the hall and … came towards him and um armed him. “You are finally here” said the old elf. Quinn looked at him and saw that he now became very old older than he could remember. Quinn smiled and carefully placed an arm around him. He felt home. “Oh, forgive me. Here give your hat and coat to my servant and come in.” He led him to a study where two comfy chairs were standing close to the fire. “A little bit of rum in your thee perhaps? Ore are you still not drinking any alcohol? Well my old bones can use some extra warmth. Come on sit down.”Quinn didn't need to give an answer and he sat down in the chair. While … poured some rum in his own tee. “So tell me how are you doing? You are looking well, I must say. Any women in your life Quinn? At your age I was hunting good looking females instead of vampires” And the both laughed out loud. And Quinn tolled him about Elanee. “You have to be careful not to break her hart my son.” Quinn nodded and said:” I know, but I don't love her and she doesn't love me either but she doesn't realize that just yet”. “But know we have more important things to discuss” said.... “As you can see I am getting to old for hunting vampires. Just now when I finally have some information where we could find the master vampire. And we can put this to an end. I want you to try to infiltrate into the clan. I even know someone who can make you a pair of fake fangs and lenses to change your eye color.” Quinn's dark complexion turned pale. “You can still get some rum in your tea...” said... with a tender smile on his face. “I have made a promise to Elanee I have to be back for the ball” said Quinn. “Now than it is better that you get some sleep we get a busy day tomorrow.” And he rang a bell and moments later a maid came in. And he said to her “Show Quinn to his room”. Quinn stood up and kneeled beside ...chair. “It is a bold idea and I am not sure I like it but I have no choice. This clan must be eradicated at its roots. Only than we can be sure they won't do any more harm. And I might be the only person for this job.” he said and he kissed him on the forehead and he left the room. ...looked at him while he was leaving the room. He was proud of Quinn. He knew Quinn was afraid. Although he looked strong and sure, only he could she that Quinns ears were drooping just a little. A sure sign of his fear.

The house of Quinn (Deredere) Empty Re: The house of Quinn (Deredere)

Post by Deredere 2010-01-07, 10:33 am

The following day proved to be a very busy day. …. took him on a tour around the city visiting several of his friends. The dentist that made him a pair of fangs with little canals in them so that he could drink blood if he would be forced too. The inventor who learned him how to put some weird looking things over his eyes that made them look yellow instead of blue. And to his horror he had to fit some clothes that would made him look like a tough vampire with a lace shirt and leather pants and coat and lots of metal spikes. An other gave him all kind of instructions how he should behave around the vampires. Quinn was amazed of how many people were involved in all this. He got maps of the city with different hideouts on them. There was one nightclub on the map where they advised him to go and get in contact with the clan.
The next days Quinn studied hard on all the new information ... network had found. And he gradually got used to the nightlife instead of day life. He had no time to worry. And finally he was as ready as he would ever get.
That day he could barely sleep. Would he be able to get in? And what would he find if he got in? What would he have to do? They had told hem that there would be some kind of ritual. But they never found out what it was. Than he heard a knock on his door. “ Who is it?” asked Quinn. “Good morning or must I say evening? I am here to wish you good luck my son” said … “Come in” asked Quinn. “Good morning or must I say evening? I am here to wish you good luck my son” said … “Come in. I was just getting up” … opened the door. “Now you look evil enough” … laughed at Quinns grumpy and tired face. Quinn couldn't help but grin. He picked up his “vampire” clothes and put them on. “Do you really think I can walk around in the city wearing this?” He asked … “Yes you can in at least some parts of the town. But I will bring you with my coach as far as it is safe for me to do.” Quinn sighted “I am glad you would like to do that” said he while he tried to put the lenses in. He still found it a bit scary. But He wouldn't have to take them out for a while. He stood up and made his most evil looking face. “How do I look?” … watched him for a while. “ More convincing than I would have dared to expect. I really hope you will succeed it will be very dangerous.” Quinn saw the worry on his face.

The house of Quinn (Deredere) Empty Re: The house of Quinn (Deredere)

Post by Deredere 2010-01-08, 1:10 am

It was a dark spring night and a lite drizzle of rain fell from the sky. The sound of the horse carriage echoed between the houses of the street. Quinn and … sat in silence, both in their own thoughts. … was proud of his adopted son. He remembered the night he found Quinn. He was travelling through a forest searching for special plants for a recipe that had to be plucked at a night with full moon, when he came to a clearing in the forest. He was so occupied with his searching that he missed the smell of blood that hung in the air. Before his feet he saw a massacre. Dark elven bodies scattered the forest floor. Led by his curiosity he walked to a body of a man close to him and inspected it. There were two bite marks in the neck of the body. And it still felt a bit warm to the touch so he must have been killed recently. But a soft sound reached his ears. … sat completely still. There he heard it again. It came from the middle of the clearing. Would there be still someone alive? Dark elves or vampires where both creatures that you wouldn't want to meet in a dark forest. Not even an injured one. But his curiosity won it from his fear. He took his knife in his hand and he slowly walked towards the middle of the clearing. And there two frightened blue eyes met his. It was a small dark elven boy. Tears were streaming over his face. But there was no blood on him not any mark that he had been bitten or hurt. …. was puzzled. Should he kill the boy? But those blue eyes looked so helpless. But that was strange. Normal dark elves had different shades of yellow eyes. … mumbled to him self: “My curiosity will kill me one day” He looked around. Normally Elves would cremate the bodies but that might attack the vampires. But he couldn't leave the bodies like this it would attack other predators. The dark elves had dugout a fire pit. It looked like they were planning to stay here for a while. So he started dragging the bodies to the pit. After a few bodies the little boy stood up and without saying a word he started to help. Than they pushed sand over the pit and laid stones on top. When the grave was covered as best as they could the sun already started to rise. …. had to go home and he started to walk away. The boy followed him. … didn't know what to do with this boy. He as a high elf couldn't care for the boy could he? He stopped and turned around. The boy looked up to him. His eyes begging for love. …. looked at Quinn now. How could he ever have thought of killing him. The carriage stopped and Quinns eyes flashed a bright Yellow. It brought a shiver down … spine. Even while he knew the yellow came from the lenses that Quinn wore it frightened him. This young boy grew up to a man that soon would face the one who had killed his family. He felt very proud. … opened one of the curtains of the carriage and peered outside. The street was empty. They were now in a poorer part of town. “I can't escort you any further my son. Now it is all up to you.” He bent over to Quinn and gave him the ritual kiss on his forehead. “Be careful my son.” Quinn couldn't answer since he had a lump of fear in his throat. So he just nodded and he left the carriage.
He waited in a dark porch until he couldn't hear the sounds of hooves any more. Than he went on his way to the night club “Red Velvet”. He entered the slums of the city. The streets got smaller and darker and dirty, with open sewers on both sides. His coat was open in the front and his see trough shirt got soaking wet. Well at least his body temperature dropped. Since vampires had lower body temperatures than normal elves depending on when they have fed. In the distance he saw the lantern outside of the club. A bouncer stood on each side of the door. Quinn straightened his back and tried to look as confident as he could and walked strait to the door. The bouncers stepped in front of the door. Quinn looked at them and flashed his fake fangs. And they stepped aside so he could open the door. Quinn was glad he had practised flashing his fangs for hours in front of the mirror. Inside it was warm and noisy. The room was lightened by candles placed in red glass lanterns. In the back there was a small podium where a woman was singing in a low sexy voice and several ladies in different stages of undress were dancing. In front of the stage were tables and chairs where some vampires were drinking and watching the ladies. On the left side was a bar. He walked to the bar and sat on one of the bar stools. A young vampire barmaid with amber coloured eyes walked up to him. “I haven't seen you here before you handsome” she said in sexy voice. “What can I serve you? A Bloody Mary? You look like you could use some warming up.” Quinn swallowed, he had to stay calm or she would notice he wasn't a vampire. But couldn't help that he turned just a little darker in his face. “No thanks I prefer my blood fresh and warm” he said. The barmaid giggled. Thinking he coloured a little because he liked her. “A beer then?” “Yes please.” said Quinn. “Do you know a place where I can get a room for the day?”. “You are not from around here” said she “Not many here even know the meaning of the word please.

The door of the Red Velvet opened and a group of vampires poured in. Quinn wanted to look but the eyes of the bar maid held him while she said “ Well you might please me.... or would you rather have your own room? We have some vacant.” Quinn felt a little sweat in his hand palms and cooled them against his glass before he answered “, One single room for me please”. The barmaid giggled end she took a key from a board behind her and placed it in front of Quinn on the bar. Covering the key with her hand while she looked at Quinn from under her long eye lashes. “Room 2 is yours for one gold a week and you have to pay in advance: said she. Quinn took a gold coin out of his purse an laid it on the bar beside her hand making sure he didn't touch hers.
Suddenly he felt a strong hand on his shoulder. Quinn tensed and a voice said: Are you teasing the customers again ….? If you want to be pleased come to my room.” Her eyes opened wide when she looked at the customer. “Finn, you are back!” And she ran from behind the bar and threw herself in to the mans arms. Finn laughed and winked to Quinn. “ She always thinks I am dead if I stay away for a few months”.

The house of Quinn (Deredere) Empty Re: The house of Quinn (Deredere)

Post by Deredere 2010-01-08, 1:11 am

Kleine waarshuwing.
Het verhaal wordt hier een stuk heftiger

Quinns "master".
He made it! They would bring him to see the master! Yesterday in the nightclub they were joking about it. No one before had made it in the clan so fast. None of his “fellow” vampires had seen the master. It was a great honor. Quinn felt exited. Al tough for a different reason they expected. He would see his archenemy for the second time. They only things he could remember of him where is yellow piercing eyes. He heard a knock on his door and it opened and two vampires he hadn't seen before came through the door. They said nothing but they tied his hands behind his back and covered his eyes with a blindfold. Quinn felt his heart make a jump of fear. They lead him out of the door and in to a coach. The others stepped in too and sat on the other side of him. They drove through the city. Quinn realized they droved around just to make him loose his bearings. And he did. When the coach stopped he was completely lost. The helped him getting out of the coach and led him into a building. It must bee a huge building. He felt hard cold stone under his feat. They made him stop and he heard other people moving, probably guards. They never spoke as he was lead further in to the building. Stepping down many stairs. And going through doors always guarded by 2 vampires. Than he felt rich carpets. The sounds where a bit more muffled like there were carpets hanging from the walls that absorbed any sounds. The two vampires escorting him pulled on his arms to make him stop. “Wait here!” One said in a demanding voice. And Quinn waited nervously. His hands began to ache of the tight rope that was tied around them. Than he heard huge doors being opened in front of him. The came back to him and pushed him in to the room. It felt like he was entering a very large room. A bit like a church. There was again cold stone under his feat and the sounds echoed. Then they stopped again. The pushed him to his knees. Quinn shivered when his knee touched the cold stone. One untied his hands while the other held him down. Than his eyecover was removed. His head was pushed down so he couldn't look up. “Don't move! And don't look up unless you are asked to do so!” He was commanded. Quinn realized it was best to listen and he forced his tight muscles to relax in answer to the command. He heard the vampires leave the room. And the doors close. He waited and it felt like hours. He felt the cold creep into his muscles. And his legs and neck started to hurt. But he didn't dare to look up or to move. Than he heard a door open somewhere in front of him. And with soft steps he could barely hear, the master came in. He stopped in front of him and it sounded like he was stepping up some stairs. He heard his garments brushing against something. Quinns heart felt like it was bursting out of his chest. He realized the master was sitting on something that he could only imagine as a throne. And it stayed quiet. Quinn could only hear his own fast breathing. Than out of nothing he heard a soft gentile voice. “Look at me Quinn” Quinns ears drooped a little. He should feel joy. But he could only feel a cold fear. What would other vampires have felt like seeing their master for a very firths time? He slowly lifted his head. And what he saw made him even more terrified.
This was the most beautiful creature he ever saw. Magnificent in its power. The room itself was simple but it didn't need to be anymore luxurious He filled this room all by him self. On his face lay a mild and beautiful smile. Quinn struggled with his feelings. He should hate him but he could do nothing but stare in awe. The master vampire looked at him. “ you are very welcome here” he said with almost a hint of love in his voice. Quinn didn't know what to think. Again silence while the master seems to study him. The master vampire stood up and walked towards him. He took his chin in one of his hands and lifted his head. Quinn couldn't stop but look in those great yellow eyes. His hands felt very cold on Quinns chin. And the master smiled even more. “I still remember you” said he. Quinn was shocked. Would he recognize him as the boy he once was so many centuries ago? “How did your first blood taste?” asked the master and Quinn relaxed just a little. The master really thought he was a vampire. The master laughed softly as he felt Quinns reaction. “Did you really think you could fool me boy?” And in his eyes Quinn saw a strange amused sight. “Oh yes they did a great job. Changing the color of your eyes. Making those fangs for you. You fooled many of my clan. Did you enjoy being part of them? Did you feel welcome and at home?” Quinn was to terrified to say anything. “Even now I see that small frightened little boy with those innocent blue eyes in front of me. When I was looking at you while raping your little sister and drinking her blood until she died in my arms.” Quinn started to tremble. How could he be so stupid. How could he have thought he could fool this creature. There he was the master talking to him like a father to his son telling beautiful stories before bedtime. He couldn't help it and tears came out of his eyes. “Yes I was the one that ordered to let you live. I was not even the master vampire than. But I already had a group of devoted followers. You gave me the idea that I could become the master vampire” There came a dreaming glare over his face. And he stopped talking for a while remembering the good old days. Than he focused his eyes back on Quinns. With his other hand he stroke hair out of Quinns face. Wiping away some of Quinn tears. “I never felt such power as when you looked into my eyes. I made you to what you are now. You are almost a son to me.” He threw his head back and laughed out of pure joy.” Quinn watched in horror. He saw the master growing in power. And when the masters eyes turned back at him he felt faint. The master cupped his hand around his chin en bent over softly kissing Quinns forehead. Quinn felt two little pinpricks. The master drew back his head watching two small blood drops form on Quinns head. Than he bowed over him and kissed him again licking the two drops from his skin. And he let loose of Quinns face and he fell limp to the floor. The master looked at him for a while and than picked him up from the floor cuddling him in his arms. He stood up and walked to the door at the back of the throne. It opened and carefully he carried Quinn to his quarters. He undressed him and laid him in his soft warm bed. He took a chair and sat close to the bed watching Quinn. He wished he could see those blue eyes again. But these yellow eyes made Quinn look even more like he was his son. He knew he should kill Quinn in the end or Quinn would kill him. But than he would rather be killed by Quinn than by anyone else.
That day Quinn woke up feeling something cold against his naked back. He rose slowly and let his eyes get used to the dark. And to his horror he saw The master laying beside him in the bed. His face completely relaxed. Now! Now was the time to kill him! Quinn felt his heart jump. But it felt like the master had sucked away all Quinns strength and will with those two drops of blood. He couldn't do anything than to stare at his beautiful face. Why would the master let him close to him while he was in his most vulnerable state? He must have known Quinn couldn't kill him now. Even now so many centuries later he still was that frightened little boy.
Paralyzed by fear of his own reactions to this creature. He was so confused and so tired. And he fell asleep again.

The house of Quinn (Deredere) Empty Re: The house of Quinn (Deredere)

Post by Deredere 2010-01-08, 3:45 am

He woke up hearing noises. He was still there in his nightmare. The master was standing in the room. Slowly he turned around an with a smile he said “ I thought you would never wake up my boy. I have some tea for you. Go on drink it.” Quinn saw the cup of tea on the bedside table. He carefully sniffed at it. The master laughed. “It is just tea. I didn't put anything in it, not even a drop of rum”. And he laughed even more. So Quinn drank his tea. He felt a little stronger. And the master threw a robe to him. “Here put this on. They will bring our breakfast soon.” He looked at Quinns reaction who drew a horrible face. “No it is not a young maiden it is just normal toast and jelly. Yes even I a master vampire likes just normal breakfast although it won't give me anything more than a pleasant taste.” And Quinn couldn't help but grin. This was such a weird situation. Quinn dressed himself in his robe and walked to the chair that The master pointed him to go. He sat down and there was a knock on the door. “Come inn !” Said the master. And there came a small servant girl that placed the breakfast on the small table in front of them. She bowed in to of the master and left the room. “Go ahead and eat my boy”. It felt almost like having breakfast with …. instead of the master. They would discuss what there plans were for the day. Quinn looked up at the masters face. And he dared to ask him a question. “why all the senseless killing? Many creatures kill to feed but your clan kills fore fun!” The master looked at Quinn. Quinn wanted to make him self as small as possible. Why was he so stupid to forget where he was? And to whom he was talking too. But the master wiped slowly the breadcrumbs from his face with a napkin. “You know some creatures, as you like to say, are born to be leaders. I am one of those. Some are born smart enough to become their closest followers but that is just a small group. The largest group are born stupid. They just follow the one that can shout the hardest. As long as I keep those busy and happy they will follow me. But if I won't, even someone like you could turn them against me. And I can't have that. You know I see a lot of myself in you. You are smart and might even make it to leader. The way you let others think you drunk alcohol but managed to pour it away. Even my smartest spies had trouble finding out how you did it. They didn't see it until I told them to look for it. Yes I know a lot about you.” Quinn felt even smaller. How could he think that this killing was the only thing that was on the mind of this master vampire. He must have some greater plan. But he didn't had time to think it over. The master had finished and he stood up and walked to Quinn. Cupping Quinns chin in one of his hands while wiping Quinns hair out of his face with the other. And he kissed him on the head drewing blood with his fangs. And licked the blood up. Satisfied he looked a moment at Quinns face. “I have to work”, he said and he left the room. Leaving Quinn behind in horror.
An so days went on. It felt like time itself had stopped. The kissing and drinking blood became a ritual. Leaving Quinn so confused. Why couldn't he kill him? Why couldn't he leave even while the door wasn't locked? The guards might even let him go. But the bond between him and his master was greater than any metal chain could be. He hated him, he loved him, the master with his cruel kindness. He wished he had locked him up in the coldest, darkest dungeon. Everything should have been better than this. Being tied to his own weaknesses.

The house of Quinn (Deredere) Empty Re: The house of Quinn (Deredere)

Post by Deredere 2010-01-08, 9:42 am

Quinn woke up, it was dark and completely silence. In panic he felt the other side of the bed. It was empty and cold. He sat up but the room was empty. This was the very first time since he got there that he woke up alone. He got up and put his robe on and walked to the door. He listened but nothing. He opened the door and the halls were dark and empty. No guards, nothing. Quinn closed the door again. He nearly panicked. He never felt so lonely in is whole life. It looked like the master had left him. Why didn't he tell him? Why? Had he done something wrong? Quinn went back to the bed and covered himself with the blankets. He felt freezing cold. What was happening to him? He wanted to be free and now he was but he still couldn't leave the room. What should he tell...? That he couldn't kill the master? That he let them all down? He sat there for hours. But it felt like years to Quinn.
Than he suddenly heard a lot of voices shouting. They came towards the room. Quinn curled up in a ball covered by blankets. The door went open with a loud bang and he heard some people running to the bed. And than a female voice shouted “NO! STOP! They stopped just in front of the bed. The female ran to the side of the bed and she pulled the blankets away from Quinn. “There he is!” shouted one of the man. “No it is Quinn!” said the woman. And an other man walked in to the room. “Oh no! What have they done to you?” Quinn heard in a familiar voice. The man walked to the bed and sat down on it beside him. “What have I done?” He heard the tears in his voice but still couldn't move. “He is in shock I think” Said the female voice. And to the other man she said: “ please leave us”. “Are you sure he is not dangerous?”, asked one of the man. “No he isn't” she replied. And much against their will the slowly left the room. “We will wait outside if you need us” said one before he closed the door. The woman placed a lamp that she was carrying on the bedside table. The woman touched his fore head to wipe the hair out of Quinns face. And a shock went through Quinn when he felt her hand. “What is that on his forehead?” He heard … ask. And the woman took the lamp a little closer and they could see little scars where The master had bitten him. And they both looked in horror. Were they too late? Would he be turned? …. started talking in a soft voice. “I hope we didn't came too late. The last thing we heard is that you would be shown to the master. And then we heard nothing anymore. We even send in a woman that had fed one of the vampires of your group drunk to get more information about you. But it was also the last day that he had seen or heard anything about you. And that was almost 2 months ago. We just couldn't wait any longer and we decided to attack. But the house was almost empty like he knew we were coming.” Inn a small voice Quinn said: ”I could have killed him” … and the woman looked at each other. What had happened here? Why was Quinn in the chamber of The vampire master? The woman touched Quinns hand. “Do you remember who I am?” she asked him. Quinn slowly opened his eyes and looked in to a pair of purple eyes. Not as beautiful as the yellow eyes of The master. But these were warm. And he started to remember. It was the young elven lady he had seen at a party. There he was challenged to prove he was a real vampire worth of joining the clan. The other had seen Quinns interest in this lady and they said that if he would bite her and drink her blood unseen from prying eyes. They would make him a member. And so he did. He had seduced her. But it felt hard on him. He started to really like her. But the members of the group got impatience. He had no choice. And after a few nights going out with her he led her to a quiet place and had bitten her. It was a weird sensation feeling the warm blood go through his throat. She had struggled a little but she was tired and Quinn was strong. He felt the life of her slipping away. He was killing a woman to get to The Master vampire. Wasn't he as bad as they were? But he couldn't stop. When she finally collapsed in his arms and he felt no heartbeat he left her on the ground and ran. He trow up several times, and hoped that no vampire would see him doing so. But here she was standing in front of him. “Am I dead? Quinn asked the lady. Gwenn looked at him, and for a moment she didn't understood the question. “No you are not. And you didn't kill me although you tried very hard. Some people from … organization had found me. I seem to have a very fast regeneration. And with a little help from them I survived.” “You are not mad at me? Quinn asked very surprised. “I was at the beginning. Maybe I still am I don't know. … told me a lot about this vampire clan and what they have done to you and others. “You should have trusted me. If you had asked I had probably helped you. Would have saved you a lot of trouble.”
